ABOUT SEKAR JAGAT SPA

Sekar Jagat is polite Balinese language meaning Flowers of the Earth.

We are a family-run local day spa in Bali, owned and directed by Balinese spa pioneer Ibu Indri. We are not in the mass market, we care providing a service for people who care. Thanks to our loyal customers and our committed staff we have managed to establish our Spa Sekar Jagat as a brand among thousands of spas and massage places in Bali.

In the late nineties, well before the spa boom, at a time when simple massage salons on Bali still were named massage salon (not "spa") and when 5-star hotels just started to add a spa to their facilities (resulting in "resort and spa"), Ibu Indri studied Indonesian spa and massage history and founded in 2001 Sekar Jagat Spa, focusing on proper Balinese spa procedures. From now on Sekar Jagat Spa was one of very few companies spearheading the development of authentic Balinese spa on Bali island.

In 2005 we founded our Balinese Spa Course where we have taught until today more than 500 spa professionals from all over the world in individual one-to-one training how to give massages and how to correctly apply local spa techniques. Recently our spa school partnered with Ryubi International Beauty College in Okinawa/Japan. Today we play a significant role in setting the standards for Balinese spa.

Ibu Indri also graduated in international spa diploma from CIBTAC (Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology) London in the subject of anatomy and physiology, body massage and spa therapy. She also joined intensive training from Guy Dumont (France) in the subject of lymphatic drainage massage.

Designed in classic Balinese style and charmingly spreading local flavor, we believe our spa is the perfect place to enjoy authentic Balinese massage and delightful spa treatments. You can expect a pleasant natural ambience and skillful therapists using fresh material. We train and continuously develop our therapists on site, their work is overviewed by Ibu Indri. We try to keep in touch with our valued customers and take constructive suggestions very serious.

Our guests are connoisseurs, spa professionals, occasional spa goers, couples / honeymooners, single travelers and sometimes small groups, coming from all over the world and all ways of life. Many are returning customers and regulars, the majority knows us from the Internet or good books, many come by recommendation of their friends or colleagues. By the way, those who follow touts end up at other places ;-)

Private outdoor and air-con facilities

Nine private and spacious semi-roofed treatment rooms for singles and couples, equipped with open air bath, hot and cold water facilities and a beautiful small garden provide the perfect surrounding for relaxation and rejuvenation. Plus another seven comfortable multifunction places for hair spa, facial and manicure/pedicure in our tidy salon.

Three air-conditioned treatment rooms for single and couple occupancy in our newest spa building, also available are two family rooms for 3 people together.

Great treatments with fine products

Enjoy superior spa and massages based on traditional Indonesian techniques and recipes using fresh leaves, herbs and plants, fragrant blossoms and essences. Plus a fully trained staff and a pleasant atmosphere ensure you an excellent time at our spa. The massage oil used is of very good quality as are all our products. Most of the materials we use (massage oils, lulur, boreh, cream bath, facials, masks and wraps) is of our own production and always of excellent quality.

All treatments are suitable for ladies as well as for gents. Couples have a special time with our highly customizable Packages for 2. All our therapists are female, courteous and well-trained.

Free shuttle service

Take advantage of our free pick-up & drop-back service, the hassle free way to come to us, and have a delicious welcome ginger tea at arrival. If you try to come with a cab or driver chances are you get dragged away to other places, don't say we didn't tell you ;-)

Located in Mumbul - Nusa Dua, in the South of Bali, only 10min from Nusa Dua Resorts and Jimbaran Beach (4km), 15min from Tanjung Benoa (5km), 25-35min from Kuta (8-10km), 30-45min from Seminyak and 30min from Sanur (20km).
